International students are those who are not United States citizens and who wish to come to America to study at a college or university for the first time. While the process to applying to a school and travelling to the United States seems daunting, our experts have professional and personal experience and are here to guide you every step of the way. During our initial consultation appointment we will determine your specific needs, and work with you through the necessary visa and college applications. We will determine how to best help you settle into your future home, and get you ready for student life in America! We are excited to be with you as you begin the journey toward your college dreams.

For American students, the process of applying for and getting into college is a little less complicated, but it still isn’t always easy. You may still be in high school and looking for direction as you begin your college applications, or you may have already graduated from high school and not sure where to start. We are familiar with the entire process, from applications and acceptance to financial aid and housing. It doesn’t matter if you are going from high school to college, or are returning to the classroom, and are worried about how things have changed. We want to set your mind at ease and help you achieve every goal and desire you set forth.

When you first call Global Student Consulting, we will want to get some basic information from you about your professional and academic goals. The more we know about you, the better we can serve you. We will schedule a Consulting Appointment for you with one of our team members who will research and prepare information specifically designed to meet your needs. Our goal is to provide you with a Care Package that is a perfect fit for you.

GSC will help you to complete the online application for admission to your desired school.

GSC will help you navigate to the student system sign-in webpage and create your student user account. This will give you access to your to-do list, registration information, payments, etc.

GSC will gather all of the necessary documents from you, including your current Form I-20, a copy of your passport, transcript, English proficiency, etc.

GSC will submit all the prepared supporting documents from step 4. At this point, the school will then review the application, and make their decision on your status. Turnaround times from each school can vary, so it is vital that your pertinent documents and information are turned in as soon as possible.

If you are under 22 years of age, you are required to submit proof of the meningitis vaccine to GSC. The system will not allow you to enroll in classes until your proof of vaccination has been processed. If you have not yet been vaccinated, GSC will assist you in getting your vaccination.

Once the office receives all your documents, you should wait at least 10 business days for processing of the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) Form, also commonly referred to as the I-20. This time will vary depending on when the application is submitted and how many applicants there are at the time. Applications are processed in the order they are received.

There are 2 options available for the mailing of your acceptance letter and I-20:

Regular Overseas Mail — Overseas mail takes 4-6 weeks. If you want your I-20 sent by regular overseas mail, no response is required. Your I-20 will be sent by regular overseas mail to the address indicated on your application. Please do not e-mail to confirm your overseas address.

Express Mail — With this option, you will receive your I-20 within 5 days after processing. All postage and service fees incurred by the use of Express mail will be paid by the student. To select express mail, contact GSC.
